way back in the late late 70's i was hoping that santa would bring me grover from sesame street or maybe some extra cookies after dinner. but instead (or maybe in addition to, hard to remember!) christmas brought you! what a great partner in crime you were, from rafting across the "ponds" behind the house, to trekking to pinebridge for candy, berry picking, sledding, playing kick the can. WWF matches and dangling he-man out the bathroom window. i do have to tell you that i could not ask for a better brother than you. i'm so proud of the person you have become. you have come thru on the other side of adversity stronger and smarter and its very admirable. take a minute today and realize how much we all love you and are thankful to call you brother, son, uncle, FRIEND. cant wait to see you in a few days and celebrate!!!

PS i couldnt find that pic of us in Denver, when you had your dreads and the bright idea to piss off the bartender.. probably better that way... good times we've had and many more to come!

tough weekend training for me. long ride yesterday, with lunges, (yes lunges in the middle of the ride, several times. glorious.) and then 3800 in the pool this morning - good thing i didnt add that up before jumping in! - and then about 10 miles on the roads, finishing just in time to watch the steeler game (though i think now i should have kept running..) yes some of those moments HURT, but more of those moments felt GOOD.
