since at this point i am completely incapable of writing a clear and concise and comprehendable account of life lately i will defer back to a random smattering:

* i spent a week in Utah. some parts were fun - like skiiing at ALTA. where the runs were so wide open and not crowded and they had been getting a solid 10-12 inches a night. so yes it was wonderful.

*i spent a solid 4 days at a tradeshow (sat and sunday included!) talking up the merits of cotton. who doesnt love cotton. certainly not those folks in the outdoor sports market who have coined the term "cotton kills". oh yes its a good show.

*the air in Utah is not only cold, but devoid of all moisture. i could not drink enough water to stay anywhere near hydration.

*the air in Utah is THIN. running and swimming in thin air is HARD. really hard. but i'm happy to say out of all of my workouts i only missed one swim. thats pretty good for being on the road and working 10 hour days :)

*life in general is pretty good. watched a movie for the first time in a long time last night with bobby. we have a VERY hard time agreeing on genres...but Angels and Demons (the sequal to davinci code..). it was OK. still a bit too many refereces thrown out by tom hanks at warp speed. at one point though i was laughing my head off - he for some reason had gotten wet and had reverted back to his character from BIG - a bit of a whiney sniffeling kid.. too funny!

*training is kicking my ass. let me say that again. kicking my ass. here i read a work out and its like "9 x45 seconds hard" whatever. how long can 45 seconds actually be and nine? please. well guess who was sucking wind after 6 of them. YEP!

*i will say i was pleasently surprised at a zone 2 effort the other day. my HR zones have really come down and i was a little hesitant to think that i could maintain a lower number at the same perceived effort. but turns out i can.

*i do alot of schlepping at my job. at least thats what i now call it. taking boxes of crap from one place to another. going to get a pillow embroidered. buying boots to dress a mannequin. packing endless boxes of marketing materials. hauling things to and from the warehouse. i am going to petition to start wearing sweats to work. do you know how hard it is to unpack 500 t-shirts in nice pants?

*i am loving my dessert options that are now housed in my pantry. included are - a leftover bag of yorks from xmas, a sleeve of mint slice (the australian cookie version of a york that i owe a big thanks to BG's aussie friends!), a bar and bag of dove dark chocolate AND double stuff oreos. really how do you choose. thats why i dont and usually have a bit of a buffet.

*i was on track to start progressing toward a lower goal racing weight for this year, but somehow am getting stuck.. perhaps it has something to do with my smorgasboard above....

*i love my girls. truly i do. madison is really the best snuggler and smokey remains grumpy that she has a stupid sister and a broken ear. but still will offer her paw to scratch and run in a dead flash to the TV when her favorite commerical comes on (right now its that car one where the couple is trying to find their dog and squeezing the squeaky toy out the window). but i've realized that i dont have a photo of them on my work computer. WTF! that needs to change.. haha!
