happy birthday to me!

so its been a good day so far. even for a Monday. and i'm happy to report to a certain snotty movie watcher that we are getting a new BIG tv for the living room so now things will be visible from the kitchen. HA! (just kidding, even though i do admit replaying your comments, and they perhaps sealed the deal!!)

weekend was good though i did something completely asinine - i went on a ride/run to try out my new uniform shorts that i have to wear this weekend ( you know the ones with your name printed HUGE across your ass). well put them on and the bike things were ok but on the run i was like hmmmm might have to up the chamois cream a bit on these. then i thought, GEEZ TYR needs to get their act together on the seams, they are really not well done.. so i get home and after peeling them off come to find i forgot to take the little plastic thing off before putting them on and it was CEMENTED now to the chamois. nice. really good job. really stupid move.

managed to put together a decent du brick yesterday. even convincing myself it was ok to start it at 11 am (since race time is 3pm on sat). my mile splits are coming down which is good, but man do they HURT. sometimes i seriously feel like a smoker. lungs are just not that happy. the other pain is coming from my upper legs, still from the sciatica. (i know i spelled that wrong). it was under control for a while this summer but that was going to the DR 2-3x per week, which i cannot keep doing, for times sake and well thats freakin expensive. so after this week i'm going to see someone else to try to get a more permanent solution. but until then its suck it up and hobble/run. nice.

out of that steeler tower of gifts there were many little gems. 2 of which are notable.. first mint pareils - sooo good! (like these but they were mini and pastel colors.)


and the second. swiss cheese. from Wisconsin. this was some GOOD stuff. i mean i've had the cheese plate in paris and the fru fru stuff at nice restaurants and this was the best. seriously.

And for those of you who didnt know. today is the lunar equinox. i know this because its my day. its also the first day of fall - depending on what calendar you look at and doogie houser's bday as doogie houser, not neil patrick harris.
