the hangover

yep marty called it. he said "you know how people do an ironman and then afterwards go thru withdrawal...doughman is going to be worse". know what. he was right. DRAT. so - no better cure than the hair of the dog that bit you. right? (good thing its not gin and tonic this time.. ) so with that in mind i've jumped into an OLY this weekend. just north of here. 2 years ago i raced it and ended up 4th OA, (on my trusty cannondale!) so hoping to better that this weekend. its a super fast bike course so scotty is on high alert. rumor has it the lake temp is still hovering pretty low so the batman suit is all ready to go. swimming while encased in rubber is so not over rated. i quite welcome it.

and - sh*t its summer. how can you not be happy when its summer? lots of stuff to look forward to - bike camp, beach weekends, bonfires (ok those mostly happen when the grill goes awry..), beers on the deck, baseball games.. hmmmmm good stuff. oh and jack johnson will be here in august. fantastic.

anyway - lots of other racing this weekend.. i'm kind of sad not to be heading to kansas.. had originally planned to go and race with julia and mary and renne... but it wasnt in the cards this year (and hell. lets face it the HIM wasnt appealing to me right now!). so ladies - may the wind be at your back and the spring be in your step!!! i'll definitely miss seeing all of you.

in other not so newsworthy news.. seems as if all of the stars of my childhood are slowly.. well.. dying. first corey haim (license to drive - GREAT movie), gary coleman and now blanche from the golden girls. makes me want to go and watch Nick at Nite all weekend! famiily ties anyone?

so now that i've written a most engaging, educational and i'm sure thought provoking (ha) post, time to go eat some fish tacos. home made fish tacos. fresh salsa.... wow.
