- i have to ring my clothes out multiple times during a run.
- the water in the pool is no longer refreshing, but rather a luke warm repreive
-the weatherman tells old people to not go out side
-there is forever a chance of thunderstorms
-a 2 liter of ice cold regular coke at the end of a HOT bike ride looks like nectar of the gods.
-a woman at the OW swim yesterday got over heated in the water and thought that taking off her top would cool her down
-i am forced to dress everyday for 2 entirely different climates - the indoor arctic winds of the office and the outside oven set to pre-heat for toll house temperatures
-i would rather park under at tree in the far corner of the lot than in the direct sun near the door
-realize that yes i can steer my car with just one finger
-ice cream is a valid choice for any meal
despite the ahem, conditions, it was a good training weekend. long run and ride on saturday (carrying around about 6 extra pounds of sweat makes for strong hill running!). sunday was the open water mile - i swam about the same time as last year, but without a wet suit so thinking thats progress..right?. then a ride with the gaals- a very hot ride, where the sun was beating down and the heat from the pavement was radiating up. lovely. follow that up with shopping (that my friends could warrent a whole other post as i've now officially quit that) and a trip to the saucer. some good story telling and some good laughs.
oh and i got to try out these bad boys on sunday. the guys at inside out let me walk out the door with them.. love it! well until i realized that i was riding on like 3 grand or something ridiculous like that...
stay cool. i've got a fresh bag of ice pops ready to go in the freezer!
and a special salute to the world cup for bringing such loveliness to the world stage. lets start with the aussies.. :)

finally to end this ridiculous ramble.. i found this and would immediately like it incorporated into my training plan (ahem jen??!?!?). i mean why am i spending 60-75 minutes in the pool when its apparent that much less is all it takes!

Stay cool Kari!!! This is why I couldn't live in the south. Your heat and humidity would kill me! :)
HAHA. FOR ONCE I hear you on the melting! Usually it is -20F here in Chicago, but after EM, and it was nearly 100F, I get this! MAN, that sucks. I would NOT enjoy that and I LOVE heat. Well...as long as I am not racing! :))) Stay cool!!
oppresive is the correct term for this. ugh. but just remember races can get steamy too! gotta be ready.
